Code of Conduct:
South Pacific Gamers is solid gaming community. In order to maintain a culture and climate that supports such, friendships, and game goals it is necessary to provide some general guidelines for engagement within the guild structure. This is always an evolving document, so your thoughts and feedback are appreciated.
No group can work well together without good communication. Please be sure to let others in the guild know when you need help. In all collaborative groups there are times when questions or concerns may arise. Please do not hesitate to voice your concerns at any time; all guild members should be respectful and productive with their contributions to conversation. Any issues should be brought to the attention of the guild officers as early as possible. Officer/Leaders are there to help facilitate conversations and solutions! Please never hesitate to speak with a guild officer - either real time (in private chat if warranted) or by sending in-game mail.
SPG is an all adult guild. As such, our conversations in guild chat often reflect that. Although the majority of the guild are like minded, discussions in-game are sometimes not game related. Use of the game environment to discuss outside matters, is encouraged. However we are all here to have fun, and some of our funniest times involved insults swearing, vulgar and very crude comments. If you are easily offended please consider this before you apply. Some people feel uneasy with female members in the guild, in most cases it’s a female member who comes up with the best insult or crude comment So watch out.
The Guild Bank is the resource provided for the guild to share materials, gear, food, and other items. Players are limited in the number of items per day they may withdraw by rank. Please also consider sharing items that you loot, create, acquire by placing them in an appropriate place in the bank (notice we ATTEMPT to keep it organized). Note: Please do not put grey items in the guild bank. Please note that once you place something in the guild bank - it belongs to the guild community and it available for anyone in the guild who has access to take/use.
There are times we all need to work outside the guild, on group quests, in PUG's, Raids and in trading. SPG is a respected long running gaming community and as such needs to maintain a reputation as fair, honourable players in the game. Please consider that you represent South Pacific Gamers in all aspects of what you do in the game.
We understand that not all players are fit for SPG and some may have goals in the game that SPG is either unable or unwilling to support. Leaving the guild to accomplish goals in the game that South Pacific Gamers is not capable of helping with is understood. However, joining another guild temporarily to run high end game content, only to come back to SPG may be seen by other guilds in a negative light. South Pacific Gamers believes in second chances when appropriate, but not third and fourth chances. If you are considering leaving the guild, please talk to an officer to discuss you reasons and goals in the game. Re-joining the guild will be left to the discretion of the officers. Please Note: It is not appropriate to empty the guild bank of items just prior to leaving the guild. However thanks to the updated T&C's doing so will now result in a permanent account ban.
This has been a common thing throughout the game and unfortunately unstoppable. However it is preventable and Officers take measures to protect the guilds assets. If any member believes it may not be you playing your account they are to report it immediately if an officer feels this is also the case you will instantly demoted to the Inactive Rank until it can be resolved. If you choose to retire your account to another person be it a cousin, brother, friend from school, etc. Your Character/s will be demoted to Probational Rank and stay their until the new player has indicated their intentions in the community.
We all work hard in game to acquire resources and develop our skills. These can often benefit other players and can command high prices in game. SPG members work together to share their skills and often materials as well. We may not charge each other for skills. However, either compensation or assistance in gathering materials is highly appreciated and recommended.
The in-game calendar will be used to schedule events. Events include but are not limited to group quests, instances, raids, achievements, guild meetings. workshops, AND social gatherings. Any Officer/Leader can add to the calendar. Please adhere to scheduled times. When an event is scheduled to begin at 9PM server time, party members are expecting to begin the instance as close to published time as possible. Please be considerate of this and factor in your travel and prep time when logging in.
Guild ranks are defined/explained on the forum guild ranks page (link above). Officers attempt to keep ranks correct, please check your toons and make sure that you have one listed as a main at the correct rank. Please speak to an officer if you have any questions about your rank.
Many players play more than one toon in the guild. Each should have a "main" with the appropriate rank based on the explanation on the forum guild ranks page. Other toons (alts) should be listed as Social Members. Please edit the "note" of your toon who the alt belongs to (i.e: "ID: Smeggus") to assist people in keeping the multiple personalities straight. We understand it’s a new expansion an finding a class you enjoy can be difficult. You may switch your main, However there is a good chance doing this may affect the rank an or raid spot you once held speak to an officer before making this decision.
Please make sure you have all needed supplies and items needed for quests when preparing for an instance run. In addition, please repair prior to coming to the instance location.
Working in a raid or instance is very different than soloing in game. Every player has a specific job that takes time and practice to learn. Constructive criticism is appreciated, but blaming, demeaning, or insulting the performance of another player is not acceptable, unless its welcomed by the victim.
Our loot rules are decided by a vote there are several options for our guild officers to choose from and before we commence raiding a discussion is held. This can be challenged at any time by other players which can be requested at any time by any guild member. It requires 80% of raiders to vote for a change for us to warrant a vote on a new loot system.
South Pacific Gamers is a guild of like minded gamers. Friends and Family members of guild members also play, as well as members who were recruited "in game". Recruiting should be done with great care. Officers will not invite someone they have not spoken with in-game. (with the exception of immediate family) Officer/Leaders make sure that those they may invite will be an asset to the guild and represent us well. All new members are subject to the same trial period even family members.
The guild forum is provided to extend resources and conversations beyond "in game". All guild members are welcome to create an account and maintain guild toon associations and personal profiles accordingly.
Most of the below is common sense but every now and then someone needs to be reminded of the following:
